Beautiful day out side today.  The doors and windows are open, and CBC Radio in on.  Since I wasn't able to make a pie on Pie Day (3.14), baking was first on my To-Do List for the weekend.


I originally wanted to make Szarlotka- an apple tart with sweet crust, but here is probably where I can confess.  I have never followed a recipe completely IN MY WHOLE LIFE, so why really start today.


My spin on Szarlotka- Sour Cream Apple Pie with Berries. I wasn't going to use berries, but I ended up using too much honey, so I needed to add something sour and ran out of apples.


Another confession- I don't measure (unless baking something precise).


I have always made crust by hand- today was the first time using a Processor.  It definitely saved some time, and was a bit cleaner.  The dough turned out great.  I also went old school rolling out the dough with a wine bottle- and no I didn't drink any..


Now, outside for a hike.  I'm heading to Cascades Park to see how much snow is in the bush.

Finally was able to fit some buttkick in my schedule:

Yesterday, the normal Workout of the Day (WOD) was scaled down for me!  My goal is to complete that program in 6 months time!

Yesterday workout was:
Murph: For time.
1 mile Run
100 Pull ups
200 Push ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run

Crazy eh!!  People actually did this!

My workout was:
500m run
100 ring ups
100 push ups
200 squats
500m run

Time: 34:06


Todays WOD
Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 12 minutes of:
150 Wall balls (20lbs to 10′ target)  (14lbs to 9′ target)
90 Double-unders
30 Muscle-ups

My WOD
150 Wall balls in 12 minutes!

Today I felt the lungs burn and thighs!!  Sweat was pouring off me!  Wallballs are my favourite!

So, tomorrow- the only time I can fit in 6am for the buttwhooping...  I'm going to try and make this happen.

So, Im probably in trouble.....!!!

Sorry to disappoint- no crossfit for me today !!!  But is teaching for 7 hours, tutoring for 3 hours, and 2 hour Toastmasters meeting (Im a nerd, I know!) considered Crossfit?  Maybe to some!  Crossfit is about pushing your limits right- so, that is what I did today!

And, Scot, if you are reading this- I did try to wake up at 5:30 to come to thy gym, but sleep was more important this morning!

Despite all of this, I did eat well today- eggs, protein shakes, chocolate milk (addiction), soup and nuts!

And.....if anyone cares, I am going Winter Camping Friday Night as I fish for Specs!!!  Wish me luck!
